Second album, fresh live dates: The indie band TIGERMILCH will be going on the “Yesterday didn’t feel like it was earlier” tour in 2025 and will be bringing brand new material to the big headliner tour! The four-person group from Cologne, which has long established itself as an insider tip in the German-speaking music scene, will be touring Germany, Austria and Switzerland from spring onwards. Fans can look forward to fresh songs from the upcoming second studio album in the live sets, which will also feature
2025 will be released.
TIGERMILCH have polished the new music to a high gloss in long nights of rehearsals and have high expectations: the band wants to reflect their versatility with their new output and explore new sound paths. But what remains the same is the distinctive mix of profound lyrics and catchy melodies, which creates emotional and thrilling moments live.
TIGERMILCH's unique sound combines soulful-jazzy indie pop with magical melodies, hip-hop-inspired grooves and a dreamy nonchalance in the ambiguous, smart German lyrics. The four Cologne natives - Ben (vocals, synthesizer), Tamim (guitar), Eric (bass) and Philipp (drums) - founded TIGERMILCH in 2018 and first attracted public attention in 2020. In 2022, the debut LP "Gelaber" was released, including the single "Verversprechen", which promptly garnered over 2 million Spotify plays, all without a major label, all self-made: self-written, self-produced - even the artwork comes from their own team, and it seems as if something like collective pop has emerged here. Wouldn't be the only neologism that one has to think up to make TIGERMILCH describable. In March '24, the critically acclaimed EP "Gib her was dich kaputt macht" dropped, and TIGERMILCH are currently finalizing their second studio album, which will be released in '25 - the first single was "Kleine Liebesgeschichte" in August '24, "KIPPEN" followed in November. Their songs tell stories about life, the small and big emotions that connect everyone and thus hit straight to the heart. Whispered feelings in which words are almost swallowed and then spat out, casual and ironic, as if they were chewing gum with a bit of heartache accidentally stuck to it.
If there's one thing TIGERMILCH can do, it's stacking soulful emotions meters high and then tearing them down again with the next sentence, as if that were the only logical step. As if it were the easiest thing in the world to let impressive arrangements meet understated virtuosity. There's no doubt about it, you almost believe that this band can do almost anything if they want to: putting crazy chords together so that they suddenly sound like pop music, for example. Or simply taking what they want from all genres. The beats from hip hop, the melodies from jazz, the riffs from indie, and then playing memory with them until everyone has forgotten that they didn't always fit together so perfectly.
TIGERMILCH have the gift of concentrating disco rhythms into catchy tunes and serving the result so cleverly that you can dance to them all night long, but also spend an entire afternoon listening to them. Their superpower: They make the simple complicated and the complicated simple, in lyrics full of serenity and the apropos of their generation and in clever cross-references, a bit of "Men I Trust", a bit of "Bilderbuch" - but the design of this band goes further than any reference could. After an exclusive set at the RBF 2024 and an end-of-year home game show in Building 9 in Cologne, TIGERMILCH will be going on an impressive D-AT-CH tour in 2025, with songs from the new album in their luggage.
