Tian Long Li is a harmonica player from South China. He was born in Nan Chang in 1987. Previously, he studied abstract art with a focus on oil painting at Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in Chong Qing from 2004 to 2008. At the age of 20, he started playing blues with harmonica. Autodidactically he immersed himself in the world of B.B. King, Buddy Guy and Muddy Waters James Cotton and many others. The cultural festival "China and Germany on the Move" gave Tian Long Li the opportunity to travel to Germany, play concerts there and start his first musical education at the Hohner Conservatory in Trossingen in 2011. From 2013-2017, he completed his Bachelor of Arts in Performance at the Jazz and Rock School in Freiburg, Germany. From 2017 to 2021, he completed two Masters in Performance and Education with Domenic Landolf, Hans Feigenwinter and Matthieu Michel at the Jazzcampus in Basel. He also took private lessons with French harmonica player Olivier Ker Ourio. Tian Long Li's style is open, playing jazz, blues, world music, etc. He formed his first quartet in Basel and enjoys writing many of his own compositions with a strong personality of his own.
