The Düsseldorf Düsterboys are coming to Basel on October 3, 2026, and will bring their very own brand of timeless folk-pop to the stage at the Gannet.
Behind The Düsseldorf Düsterboys are Peter Rubel and Pedro Goncalves Crescenti—known to many as the vocalists of the band International Music. As a duo, however, they create a world all their own: tenderly intertwining guitars, harmonious call-and-response vocals, and songs that lie somewhere between the poetry of everyday life, melancholy, and surreal lightness.
With their album “Duo Duo,” the Düsterboys have created a sound that moves effortlessly between folk, Brazilian Tropicalismo, church chorales, and Velvet Underground-esque moments—warm, playful, and yet completely contemporary. Their music evokes both the familiar intimacy of a living room and a cosmopolitan sense of vastness.
