Tamikrest means connection in tamasheq. As the 5 members of the group come from different regions of the world, it is an ideal word to describe the band. Their music is a tribute to the identity of the Touareg, spiced with modern rock influences. The lyrics are about the never-ending longing for a free world. With the message of their songs, Tamikrest wants to make the poetry and culture of the Tamasheq accessible to the inhabitants of a world that is larger than the immeasurable vastness of the Sahara.
