Polar bears

The Polarbaeren are four young musicians on a mission to break the conventions of what New Jazz should or shouldn't be. With an electroacoustic setup and genre-defying compositions, they engage with contemporary issues of their generation, creating music they describe as "climate jazz."

Biandapid

Biandapid stands for dark, rough, and yet fragile electronic music that is celebrated live on dance floors around the world. The Bern-based trio, consisting of Kenny Niggli (Keys, Vocals), Fabian Hänni (Drums, Electronics), and Daniel Somaroo (Bass, Vocals), blends the aesthetics of techno and EDM with the spontaneity and creativity of the moment. Their live performances are characterized by atmospheric soundscapes that evolve into harshly epic rave beats, sending the audience into ecstasy or dissolving into nothingness.

Stefanie Knorr

The German soprano Stefanie Knorr initially studied school music and mathematics as a teacher in Freiburg im Breisgau. She studied singing with Marcel Boone at the Basel University of Music. She has won several prizes at international competitions, including a prize at the Migros-Kulturprozent singing competition in Zurich. While still a student, Stefanie Knorr made her debut at Theater Basel in a children's opera in 2016. She subsequently appeared there as Bubikopf in "Der Kaiser von Atlantis" by Viktor Ullmann and as Älteste Meerschwester in "Andersens Erzählungen" by Jherek Bischoff (director: Philipp Stölzl). In the 2020/21 season, the soprano was a member of the OperAvenir opera studio at Theater Basel. In the 2021/22 season, she sang the role of Papagena in Mozart's "Magic Flute" (director: Simon McBurney) and Minerva in "Il ritorno d'Ulisse in Patria" by Monteverdi. Guest engagements have taken her to the Semperoper Dresden, the Theater Chemnitz and the Lucerne Theatre. Contemporary chamber music is another focus of the soprano's activities. In 2023, she sang at the ISCM World New Music Days in Cape Town (South Africa).
