Niklas Paschburg was born in Hamburg in 1994. After his first EP "Tuur mang Welten" he released his debut album in 2018. "Oceanic" is a moving journey full of melancholy and energy - twelve instrumental songs between neo-classical, ambient and electronic music, inspired by nature. Paschburg spent as much time as possible on the coast for an entire year, capturing the moods, breathing deeply, listening to the steady flow of the waves and putting it all into his music.
For the young German composer, who grew up as a pianist, this time was a formative experience: "As a teenager I listened to Nils Frahm, Ólafur Arnalds, Hauschka and this whole world influenced my EP. Then I moved in other directions: for my first record I wanted to do something different, something between piano, classical and electronic music, but also with some pop attributes - not in the harmonies, but in the structure of the songs."
All these impressions accumulate in a kind of music that is both melancholic but also positive, frees from fears and makes you dance as well as run.
