Dogsbody, the debut album from Brooklyn-based Model/Actriz (vocalist Cole Haden, guitarist Jack Wetmore, drummer Ruben Radlauer and bassist Aaron Shapiro) is a coming-of-age album that nestles between sunrise and sunset. It's both an exploration of love and loss and a sharp, piercing and fierce ode to the joy of life - much like the glistening brightness of staring into the sun.

Their music is inspired by the physicality and repetition of electronic music and the relentless driving sounds of the urban landscape and moving subways. The band is inspired by danceable music: in the build-up, re-arrangement and breaking down of core elements, the songs remain intact and concise. Co-produced and mixed by Seth Manchester (Lingua Ignota, The Body, Battles) the record feels tactile in nature. The record experiences its composition through a wide variety of settings (Shapiro's childhood home in Vermont, Haden's grandfather's cabin in Pennsylvania, the Pfizer building in Brooklyn, and the basement of The Hole art gallery in Tribeca) and comes back together in the band's own world.

Model/Actriz are known for their confrontational live shows, but the band's performances, like Dogsbody itself, are really the portal to descend into transcendence and intimate moments between those present. Haden has a keen interest in poetry, but at the same time finds comfort in complete transparency, "The less privacy I have, the more control I have in my self-discovery. If you leave things to the interpretations of others, you end up at their mercy."
