Scrooge is on a roll. A good year after his album "Jäger", which was as wide-ranging as it was personal, the Swiss chansonnier bears witness to a thoroughly inspired artist with his fifth work "Bonn Park". This time he tells his stories about hopeless relationships with so much humour and feeling that everyone will find themselves in them. With "Ich Will Ne Frau Die Mich Will" and "Du Fehlst Mir" he also delivers hits that in any sensible world would have to stay at the top of the charts for months.
The genesis of the work, however, is astonishing. Almost half of the songs were recorded with producer Konrad Betcher during the last two album recordings, but then sorted out again. In fact, "Bonn Park" is almost a good-mood album by Scrooge standards, even though the content of every single song suffers greatly. The rousing and lilting arrangements never let you forget that, but they make the pain thoroughly enjoyable. Sun Scrooge has never been more entertaining.
