CABRA is once again embarking on a musical and cultural journey - this time to MEXICO!

With our three formats CULTURE, SESSIONS & JAM, we dive deep into the vibrant culture of this fascinating country:
CULTURE - A culinary discovery tour that will indulge your senses. Come early and enjoy Mexican specialties with cocoa & fire.
SESSIONS - An unforgettable evening of music that takes us through the soundscapes of Mexico.
JAM - Make music together and end the evening creatively. Bring your instruments or use ours on site.

from 20:00 - SESSIONS: Concert with RIOSENTÍ & BARFUSS KOLLEKTIV at the Gannet Club

About our musical travel & storytellers:

RIOSENTÍ is a nomadic music project with deep roots in Latin America and an artistic approach that transcends geographical borders. In their original compositions, the two musicians Josué Avalos (Mexico) and Aline Novaro (Argentina) interweave delicate, gentle melodies with equally energetic rhythms that take us on an acoustic journey from the depths of the South American continent to the vast deserts of northern Mexico.

Their musical work is characterized by a deep connection to the traditional music of their home countries, combined with influences they have gathered on their travels around the world. With guitar, requinto jarocho and jarana from Mexico, the Venezuelan cuatro and the ronroco from the Andes, they create a unique sound that combines timeless traditions with a modern, open sound aesthetic.

Since its foundation in 2015, Riosentí has released three albums: Vertrauen (2016), Raíz de Viento (2018), Ser Feliz (hecho) en casa (2022)
Their music is more than just sound - it tells stories, conveys emotions and creates images of landscapes, people and cultures.

The BARFUSS KOLLEKTIV was founded in 2018 as a political and cultural project right in the heart of Europe, in Zurich. The diverse group consists of members from Mexico, Colombia and Peru and has set itself the task of preserving and passing on the musical heritage of Latin America. Their performance is intended to serve as an awareness-raising tool to strengthen and promote intercultural peace, respect and community.

Son Jarocho, a traditional form of music from the Sotavento region of Mexico, which stretches across the states of Veracruz, Oaxaca and Tabasco, is at the heart of their musical work. This music, played with jaranas and other traditional instruments, is deeply rooted in the history and identity of the region.

But the Barfuss Kollektiv doesn't just want to share musical traditions, they also want to build bridges between cultures and people through their captivating sounds. Their music creates a space for dialog and invites the audience to appreciate cultural diversity, to experience music as a universal means of expression and to work together to create a fairer, more humane world - in harmony with nature.
