The CH/NL duo HOME MADE ISCREAM sings openly about everyday problems in trashy pop songs; quirky and crisp, cheeky and direct. They play with hands and feet on their self-made drum machines, guitars and analogue synthesizers; the whole band of two. A critical and loving homage to mainstream music culture.

In 2017, Donath Weyeneth and Maria Demandt crossed paths and performed in the same dance theatre piece. Funnily enough, they had to pretend to be a band during the performance. They immediately found each other artistically and were convinced by the idea of actually becoming a band.

These sound messies have cobbled together their rusty synth-pop music using materials from their own lifelong sound collections. With no fear of getting their hands dirty and a desire to sweat in front of their audience, Homemade Iscream was born in a tiny studio in an industrial area between a welding shop and the railway tracks. Besides their analogue synthesizers and guitars, they built their own drum machines out of old metal to create exactly the rusty sound they want. Sun for example, the finger drum aka spacehazet has been irreplaceable from the beginning. The words to the sound are simply born from direct reflection on daily life; harsh.... like metal, but also creamy and twisted... like ice cream.

Besides Homemade Iscream, a well-known family will take centre stage this evening: The Pardeys! Congratulate Xoff, Meret and Mylène on 120 years of Pardey (you'll have to work out for yourselves who will be how old ;-)) and celebrate with the creative trio as if there were no tomorrow!
Happy Birthday Pardeys!
